Drinking water is increasingly becoming a rare commodity, with traditional sources like rivers, lakes, tanks and ponds becoming progressively converted into cesspools of sewage. Even the holy river Ganga and others like Yamuna, Godavari and Cuvery, right down to our very own Cooum are highly polluted with a combination of untreated sewage, industrial effluents, outflow from leather tanning units, effluents from sugar mills and textile units, etc with dangerous levels of bacteria and a multiplicity of toxins that it is unfit for drinking, washing or even for irrigation, downstream. To the extent that the Union Government is now unfolding a master plan to clean up the rivers
Any effort to clean up the Ganga, the Yamuna, or any other water body for that matter, can be accomplished with greater ease only by preventing the flow of sewage and industrial effluents into it and ensuring that any inflow into the river or water body is treated, and of drinking grade.
In this context, ECOHEALTH PRODUCTS PVT LTD, a Chennai based company has pride in introducing two very effective reagents, ECOCLEAN-20 and ECOCLEAN-50, which when used in tandem will clarify sewage and industrial effluents and destroy bacteria to the extent that the water gets converted into drinking grade.
ECOCLEAN-20 is an ideal reagent for removing colour and mal-odour from sewage, dying unit effluents and industrial effluents. It also acts as an effective flocculating agent, which causes the sludge to sediment, leaving the upper water crystal clear and bacteria free. The sludge would constitute an effective fertilizer.
ECOCLEAN-50 is a wonder reagent that can convert India’s polluted waterways, rivers, ponds and lakes into pure, bacteria-free drinking grade water. It is an effective bio-pesticide against bacteria (including e-coli), aphids, thrips, whiteflies, mites, fungus gnats, beetles, moth larvae, locusts and nematodes. However, it is not harmful to mammals, birds, fish, earthworms or beneficial insects such as butterflies and honey bees.
SEWAGE TREATMENT: Release of untreated sewage is perhaps the most heinous of acts as this is done with the active connivance or concurrence of Government agencies and the local bodies like municipal corporations and panchayats. Most the sewage treatment plants put up by various state governments are dysfunctional and exist more as sewage collection plants, which then let out the combined sewage of an entire town or city into a river or water body with minimal or no treatment. Little wonder most rivers in India are so polluted.
Fully functional Sewage Treatment Plants should be made mandatory by law. The treated sewage water, before being released into the river or any other water body, should be dosed with ECOCLEAN-20 and ECOCLEAN-50 to clarify the water and remove bacteria and e-coli residue in the sewage.
ECOCLEAN-20 used in combination with ECOSED-P, (a Poly electrolyte compound) is an ideal organic coagulant and flocculating reagent. It is a combination of water soluble cationic polymers and other additives formulated in the form of a hydrated solution. It is a cationic coagulant for clarification of water.
Developed after over two decades of painstaking research, ECOCLEAN-50 is a proprietary, organic water-purifying reagent. It is a combination of copper mixed complexed compounds and versatile micro Biocides and Herbicides. It is extremely useful for the control of algae, fungi, bacteria, etc (including E-coli and other fecal coliforms) during treatment of sewage water and highly polluted water apart from drinking water treatment. The sludge that remains after the treatment with ECOCLEAN can be used as a very potent organic fertilizer.
The process of incorporating ECOCLEAN in the sewage treatment process is extremely simple. ECOCLEAN-20 has to be added to the sewage after the screening process is completed to separate solid wastes such as metals, wood, glass, plastic, etc, by making use of a simple dosing pump. 40 milliliters of ECOCLEAN-2O is required for 1000 litres of untreated sewage. Immediately on addition of ECOCLEAN-20 along with ECOSED-P, the sludge in the water begins to separate and precipitate. The mal-odour is also substantially arrested. The sludge that is produced can be transported away for use as fertilizer.
After all the sludge has been sedimented, the water can be filtered and then dosed with ECOCLEAN-50. Just 30 milliliters of ECOCLEAN-50 is required to treat 1000 liters of sewage water. ECOCLEAN-50 neutralises the salts of calcium and magnesium rendering the water soft. It also totally eliminates all bacterial colonies including fecal coliforms like E-coli, making the water bacteria-free and safe for re-use for irrigation and even drinking after it is passed through sand and activated carbon filters.

On the reference of CPCB, the Department of Environmental Engineering of IIT, Kanpur has purchased ECOCLEAN-20 and ECOCLEAN-50 for use in their Sewage Treatment plants.
Patent applications for these products have been filed with the Intellectual Property Rights Department office in Chennai. Patent is pending in the name of Ecohealth Products Pvt Ltd.
Both of these reagents have already been successfully tested out with the highly polluted waters of the River Cooum in Chennai (test reports enclosed). Tests of the reagents have been carried out in Lucknow as part of the Clean Gomti initiative, yielding excellent results (test reports annexed).
